Hola voy escribir en los dos idiomas para que todos pueden entender!
Primero en Español, bueno aqui estamos en internet , haciendo que es un blog, tambien estamos haciendo una pagina web que esta en construcion ahora mismo, que en unos semanas estara terminada. La idea que tenemos es tener el blog en nuestra pagina web, donde puedo colocar noticias , links de informaciones sobre la raza que encuentro interesante, resultados de competicions y algunos fotos que vamos sacando.
Deseamos que todos vendran a visitar nuestra pagina web y blogspot , y que disfrutais todo de las fotos, noticias y informaciones que vamos a compartir con los años que tenemos por delante.

We are in the midst of designing a website which is still under construction and also making this blog which we will have on our webpage. The idea about linking our blog to the website is so we can put our news on , add recent photos here, results of competicions and also add links about the breed that we find interesting.

Sobre nosotros.
Esta es la historia sobre el nombre de nuestro afijo Mastalaya.Vivimos en la costa tropical de Granada en Torrenueva, un pueblo pequeño a lado de la playa.Donde se encuentra una Atalaya antigua construida por los musulmanes quienes habitaban la provincia de Granada hace cientos de años. Las Atalayas son torres altas hechas de piedra que utilizaban los soldados o centenarios para la vigilancia y comunicación entre las torres de la costa. Desde ellas se podian divisar la llegada de los barcos enemigos que se acercaban a las costas españolas. Atalaya, es una palabra Árabe que significa Torre de guardia/vigilancia.
Los Mastines Españoles tambien llevaban cientos de años como guardianes de los rebaños de ovejas en los duros viajes de la trashumancia. Llevando el ganado de una parte del país a otro, guardando y arriesgando sus vidas para afrontar y proteger contra lobos, osos y otras alimañas. Esta fabulosa raza especialmente vigilaban en las partes más altas como las Atalayas.
Queríamos buscar un nombre que tenia algo de historia con un toque árabe tan reflejado de nuestra provincia Granadina y que al mismo tiempo aparezca algo con la palabra mastín. Así la fusión de las dos palabras era la solución. (Mas) de mastín y (talaya) de Atalaya.... el nombre perfecto para nuestro afijo........ MASTALAYA.
Somos una familia joven que tomamos contacto con el mastín en el año 1996. Es una afición que va a perdurar durante mucho tiempo entre nosotros. Ya que estamos todos muy involucrados, y continuamente aprendiendo, empezando por nuestra hija Natalie que tiene ahora mismo 8 años. Ella es la más mastinera de todos y estamos muy orgullosos viendo como crece y aprende cada día con estos nobles animales que forman parte de nuestra familia. Disfrutamos los tres del mastín y todo lo que conlleva el mundo mastinero. Desde la cría de cachorros hasta ir de vez en cuando alguna exposición para encontrarnos con buenos amigos aficionados al mastín español.
La intención que pretendemos introduciéndonos en este mundo es aportar un grano de arena, dando a la raza algo positivo con los cruces que vamos a realizar en el futuro. Mirando mucho por la salud y bienestar del mastín español y por todo esto nos sentiremos muy satisfechos y orgullosos.

Mastalaya about us.
This is the story about the origin of our kennel name.
We live on the tropical coast of Granada, in a small Andalusian village very close to the beach.
Situated here is an ancient tower called an Atalaya which was constructed by the muslim conquerers who inhabited the province of Granada many hundreds of years ago.
The Atalayas are tall towers made of stone which the Arabic centurians used to guard and were also the means of communication between the troops of each tower along the Spanish coastline. From the very top of these high masonry structures they could detect the arrival of oncoming enemy ships which neared the Spanish coast.
Atalaya is an arabic word meaning “watch tower”.
The Spanish mastin, (also known in some countries around the world as the Spanish Mastiff) have a historical background which goes back not hundreds, but thousands of years. The breed worked as watchdogs over the herds of sheep that travelled in the long hard journeys of the trashumancia. Accompanying herds from one extreme of the country to the other, guarding, defending and putting their own lives in danger, confronting wolves, bears and other predatores. This fabulous breed also vigilated from the highest places similiar to the guards of the Atalayas.
We wanted to select a name that would highlight the historical impact of the arabic essence so implanted in our beautiful provence of Granada and the cultural importance of the Spanish Mastin which is also embedded in this great country “España” where we live. Combining at the same time part of the word mastin.
Two words resulting in fusion was the answer...

We are a young family and we made our first contact with the Spanish Mastin in 1996. It has turned into a passion that has impacted our lives and will do so for many years to come. Now that we have all become so involved, we are constantly gaining knowledge about the breed, this information we collect ,is something which we wish to share with others. I would like to mention our only daughter Natalie who is currently 8 years old, who is a pure “mastinera” with all of her little heart. We are very proud watching her learn and grow each day alongside these noble wonderful animals that form a part of our family. She deserves to be mentioned because she also plays a very big piece of this hobby that has united us very closely as a family.
The intention we have of introducing ourselves to this world is to add our little grain of salt, contributing towards this breed something positive with the breeding schemes that we intend to carry out in the future.
In conclusion, we would like to give our warmest thanks to all of the people that have helped us and that continue to help us in the future with this marvellous and incredible breed,
